Examples/Scenarios

Important! Find the answer to frequently asked questions

Data recovery is the extraction of data as a result of accidental erasure, from operational media, faulty media or damaged media. What do you do when you have lost data, images or documents? The action you take once a loss has occurred will make the difference to whether we can recover your data or not.

Examples of prolems that may arise:

* Problem 1: I erased my file: Leave the computer running (do not turn it off), do nothing further with the computer. This includes closing programs, finishing typing or saving files, if you use a memory intensive screensaver turn this off. Lost files can be stored in memory and they can be retrieved. ;

* Problem 2: My computer crashed and won’t start again: The less you do the better, stop attempting to restart the computer. We can recover your files if the hard drive has not been too badly damaged from continued use. Then we can reload the files and your operating system on to a new hard drive for you. ;

* Problem 3: My hard drive is ticking/whirring making a noise: Turn off the computer immediately and call us. ;

* Problem 4: I need the work done out of hours but no body will help. We specialise in out of hours work, this time frame allows us to work unhindered and usually without interuption.

More:

* Problem 5: I’ve lost my photos on my removable storage media: Store the media card safely until an examination can be performed.

* Problem 6: I have files on my Linux, Unix, Apple Mac, Solaris, Window's computer or other Operating System and want to copy it to another computer. We can help, contact us and let us know the situation;

* Problem 7: I have put a password on my file and cannot remember it. We have had a lot of success with password cracking, give us a call and we will see what we can do. If this is a recent password and you haven't restarted your computer then don't restart or turn off your compuetr because the password may be in memory.

* Problem 8: My computer is running perfectly right now, I am sick of something going wrong and then having to start rebuilding the perfect system all over again. Call us we can "clone" your system and provide means to recover to this exact point with everything as you had it. The cloning is different from system restore.
